It’s the first major championship of the year for the LPGA, with the tour heading to The Woodlands, Texas for the Chevron Championship. The stacked field at the Club at Carlton Woods is playing for an $8 million purse with the winner taking home $1.2 million on Sunday.
Nelly Korda is the defending champion, having collected her fifth straight LPGA victory last year. She topped Sweden’s Maja Stark by two shots in the event that’s been a major since 1983. Lilia Vu (2023), Jennifer Kupcho (2022) and Patty Tavatanakit (2021), the three winners before Korda are all in the field this week too. They are part of the 11 former champions at The Woodlands.

Twenty-four of the top 25 players in the world are participating. Only Rose Zhang (22) is not here, as she is dealing with an injury. Twenty-six players are making their debut in the Chevron Championship.
Amateurs playing in the event is a big part of its history, similar to the Masters for the men. Jasmine Koo, Gianna Clemente, Lottie Woad and recent Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion, Carla Bernat Escuder are among the top amateurs in the field.
Here’s the rundown of what each player will earn who makes the cut. Check back here Sunday after play is complete for updates.
