A week after a historic Ryder Cup in New York there are some Ryder Cup mentions this week at the Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi.
From the winning European team, Rasmus Hojgaard is tired from celebrating but here to try to improve his status via the fall. His twin brother Nicolai, who was on the winning 2023 Ryder Cup team, is here as well. Vice captains Francesco Molinari (Europe) and Brandt Snedeker (U.S.) are both in action.
They’re all playing for $8 million with the winner taking home $1.08 million.

Kevin Yu is the defending champion and back to attempt to become. The first back-to-back winner of the Sanderson Farms event. He has two top-10 finishes this season and is 65th in the FedEx Cup fall standings. Beau Hossler lost in a playoff to Yu and is playing too.
Akshay Bhatia (34) is the highest ranked player participating, while Min Woo Lee, J.T. Poston and Sam Stevens are the others player who are ranked inside the top 50.
A refresher: This is the seven event of the fall. Nos. 51-70 have already clinched status for next year but are playing for spots in the first two signature events of 2026. The top 100 earn full status for next year. Those who rank from 101-125 at the end of the fall will have conditional status for next year and anyone outside the top 100 is eligible to attend PGA Tour Q-School to try to improve status.
