The calendar is nearing March and the PGA Tour has reached the Sunshine State to start a full month worth of big events in Florida. It all starts with the Cognizant Classic at PGA National, which was a pushover early in the week with ridiculously low scores on the historically tough Champion Course.
The full field will be playing for the $9.2 million purse, with the winner taking home $1.656 million for his victory. Austin Eckroat won last year and is back to defend his title.

While it’s not a signature event—that’s next week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational—there are some big names in the field. Jordan Spieth is making his first appearance at the Cognizant Classic as he continues to work himself back into shape following wrist surgery last fall. Russell Henley is the top-ranked player in the field (No. 17) and won here 11 years ago. Irishman Shane Lowry, ranked No. 18), was a runner-up here back in 2022.
Sepp Straka, Rickie Fowler and Min Woo Lee at among the other notables in the field. Last week’s winner at the Mexico Open Brian Campbell is playing too.
Amateur Luke Clanton is back looking for another chance to earn his PGA Tour card. If he simply makes the cut this week he’ll accomplish that feat via the PGA Tour University accelerated program.
Here’s the rundown of what each player will earn this week who makes the cut. Check back here Sunday for updates.
