Barkley isn’t part of the star-studded foursome of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady, but Bleacher Report announced he will play one hole with $US200,000 for COVID-19 relief efforts on the line. The challenge for Chuck? To play the hole poorly – but not too poorly. Barkley needs to make bogey or better to win the bet.
As you can see, this idea sprung from Barkley taking a crack at Tiger and Phil during the first The Match in 2018 when the two golfers got off to sluggish starts in their battle for $9 million. And if other celebrities get involved like they did after those comments, it seems like this $200K pot will only grow.
Barkley was previously announced as an analyst for The Match as part of an announcing crew that also includes PGA Tour star Justin Thomas as an on-course reporter. It’s unclear when he’ll play his hole for charity during the event that is pitting Tiger and Peyton against Phil and Tom, and which has already pledged more than $10 million to charity.
This is the latest fun twist announced for Sunday’s event at Medalist Golf Club. The team match will also feature the foursome playing the fifth hole using only one club.
While we wait for Sunday’s start, here’s a look at Barkley playing golf with a shot tracer:

Wow. Is there anywhere we can bet on him not making bogey?
