On April 1st, it is imperative to trust anyone or anything … not even our good buddy Benny An.
On Tuesday, arguably the most dastardly, dangerous day of the year on the Internet, the fan-favorite PGA Tour pro logged on to X to offer two lucky fans “weekly Masters tickets” in exchange for a like and a comment naming their favorite golfer. The tweet went nuclear, racking up over 8,000 comments and 14,000 likes before An, ever the sly dog, stepped in to reveal two very important details:
1. Naming a favorite golfer other than Byeong Hun An was grounds for immediate disqualification.
2. He never had any actual Masters badges anyway.
I have two weekly tickets left for the Masters. Like this tweet and comment your favorite golfer. I’ll announce two winners in exactly an hour from now.
Good luck— Byeong Hun An (@ByeongHunAn) April 2, 2025

We don’t know if they celebrate April Fools’ Day in Seoul where An was born, but he seems to have missed the part about it being A JOKE. As any golf fan will tell you, Masters tickets this time of year are no laughing matter and strictly off-limits for pranks and practical jokes. Thankfully, Ben An promised to make up for his faux pas by offering two Wednesday tickets to a lucky father and son and official Masters souvenirs to another pair of followers.
Whether that’s enough to atone for the pain and suffering Ben An caused the golf community on Tuesday remains to be seen, but as we all know, nothing heals old wounds like a sunny spring day at Augusta National.
