Artificial intelligence is a pretty scary topic these days. It raises very real questions about human expendability and autonomy, but it’s not without its time, place and uses. Take for example the early tour of Trout National—the new private club from four-time AL MVP Mike Trout and 15-time major winner Tiger Woods—that golf fans got on Tuesday. Membership is available by invitation only, so this might be the best look you ever get of New Jersey’s latest golf mecca.

Located in Trout’s hometown of Vineland, N.J. and designed by Woods’ TGR Design, Trout National – The Reserve is designed to be “a world-class destination club delivering a curated experience where bold design, elite play, and five-star accommodations converge in an unforgettable setting.” Those are some awful buzzy buzzwords, but from the looks of this video, they are well earned. From the tree-lined drive (look familiar?) to the chandelier-lit clubhouse and al-fresco dining patio overlooking the course, Trout National appears to have left no expense spared and no stone unturned.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get much of a look at the course, artificial or not, but it’s fair to assume that’s coming. Carved out of the location’s natural quarry and surrounding farmland, the 18-hole championship layout is poised to compete with region’s world-famous golf offerings, from Pine Valley to Baltusrol and beyond. These early glimpses look promising, but we’ll find out how Trout National truly stacks up when it opens in April 2026.
