Jordan Doull’s galant victory at the PGA Tour of Australasia’s Webex Players Series Victoria last Sunday represented not just an important second win for the West Australian, it served as immediate validation of the new Mizuno JPX One driver.

It was the first JPX One tour win globally and came a mere two days after its launch.

This was Doull’s third tournament using the driver and matching 3T fairway wood after he first put them in play three weeks ago at the Webex Players Series Perth, where he finished T-21. He missed the cut at the Vic Open in the week in between, before delivering the first win for the JPX One driver and 3T 3-wood after a four-hole playoff against local Order of Merit leader Cameron John.

“It’s obviously really cool to get my second win in my second year,” Doull said in victory. “The year was going OK – it wasn’t anything special – but I made a plan over the Christmas break to reset and change the way I’d been thinking, to go back to how it was when I first started. For that plan to come through three weeks later is pretty cool.”
