One of the most important tournaments of the PGA Tour season, the Wyndham Championship is the last chance for golfers outside of the top 70 to sneak into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. There’s a lot on the line here, and the pros know it.
Every player from No. 60 to No. 109 will be in the North Carolina field this week, including No. 70 Matti Schmid, who’s currently the last one in. Something else to keep an eye out for: Those who finish between Nos. 71-100 in the standings will have full tour status in 2026, with players Nos. 101-125 retaining conditional status.

Last week’s winner, Kurt Kitayama, will tee off, as will top-20 FedEx Cup performers such as Ben Griffin, Keegan Bradley, Andrew Novak and Robert MacIntyre. Major winners like Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama and Adam Scott are set to make their way to Sedgefield Country Club, as well.
Defending champ Aaron Rai will return after his first win on tour. It took a tremendous comeback and some poor play down the stretch by Max Greyserman, who was up four strokes with five holes to play. Rai has a chance to become the first golfer to go back-to-back at the Wyndham since Sam Snead in the 1950s.
This week’s winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.476 million cut of the $8.2 million purse.
