Time is of the essence for the players in the field at this week’s Barracuda Championship. The co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour is an opportunity for players trying to secure their spots on the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai points list on each tour to gain valuable points with the seasons winding down.
That will be the big benefit to the winner on Sunday at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, Calif. If co-leader Ryan Gerard were to hang on to win the title in the only tour event that uses a modified Stableford Scoring System, he would jump from 42nd on the FedEx Cup points list to 22nd, essentially guaranteeing a top-50 finish that would get him into all the signature events in 2026, and providing a solid chance at a being among the top 30 and earning a spot into the Tour Championship.
Similarly, Rico Hoey, who is tied with Gerard at 34 points entering the final round would jump from 106th in the FedEx Cup points list, to 64th, securing his card for 2026 and likely qualifying for the FedEx Cup playoffs.
Of course besides FedEx Cup points, they’re handing out prize money too. The overall purse for this event is $7 million with the winner earning $720,000 for his victory.
Here’s the prize money payout breakdown for the Barracuda. Come back after the finish on Sunday and we’ll update this list with names and paydays.
