Max Homa is not at Royal Portrush for the British Open, but there’s a good chance more people will get a chance to watch him this week. And they’ll see the PGA Tour star like they’ve never seen him before.

That’s because the six-time PGA Tour winner will be making his acting debut in an episode of Apple TV+’s new golf comedy, “Stick,” premiering Wednesday, July 16. And it happens to be in a scene alongside Owen Wilson. No big deal.

“If you’re my age and you don’t like Owen Wilson, I think there’s an issue,” Homa told Golf Digest on the latest episode of The Loop podcast. “He was a part of our upbringing in the entertainment world.”

Homa is one of several PGA Tour stars making cameos in the ninth—and penultimate—episode of the first season. We don’t want to spoil the plot, but he and Wyndham Clark are in a fun scene with Wilson, who plays Pryce “Stick” Cahill, a former PGA Tour pro who has taken a prodigy golfer under his wing.

Homa came away with a new appreciation for how TV shows and movies are made after seeing how much work went into that one scene. And although he felt out of his “element,” he had a great time being involved in the show.

“I was texting my friends all day, like, ‘You won’t believe what I’m doing today,'” Homa said.

Homa also said he hasn’t seen his scene yet. And that he won’t have any big watch party when the episode drops.

“I’m looking forward to watching it,” said Homa, who is busy competing at this week’s PGA Tour opposite-field event, the Barracuda Championship. “But I might need to watch that one by myself first to make sure that I can show it to my loved ones.”

We talked to Homa about his acting debut and working with Wilson on this week’s episode of The Loop podcast. And we also had plenty to break down in the world of golf from that crazy finish at the Evian Championship, Chris Gotterup taking down Rory McIlroy at the Scottish Open, and the new King of Celebrity Golf.
