We’re somehow already at the final(!) men’s major of the golf calendar, the British Open upon us, which means we’re about to see some dynamite last-ditch efforts to add to major tallies or perhaps another J.J. Spaun-esque Cinderella Story.
The location: Royal Portrush Golf Club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Just like the players themselves, golf fans should come prepared for some challenging links golf … by having plenty of coffee available to watch the world’s best players get after it in the wee hours of the morning back in the U.S.
As you’re probably aware, the biggest golf events are spread out over multiple channels with plenty of extra streams and featured groups/holes to keep a lookout for. It’s practically a full-time job collecting all of this information, and well … that’s where we come in.
Play will start on Thursday, July 17, with nearly 50 hours of live Open coverage from Thursday through Sunday. But wait, there are nearly 200 hours in total when you count the complementary coverage on Peacock and studio coverage on the Golf Channel.
It’s the last major of the season. Let’s make it count by staring at various screens from sunrise to sundown. That’s what our forefathers would have wanted.
