Before the PGA Tour’s best get on their respective international flights for next week’s Genesis Scottish Open and the soon-approaching Open Championship, it’s time for a little Quad Cities golf with the John Deere Classic.

Of the top-30 ranked pros in the world, No. 17 Ben Griffin, No. 25 Sungjae Im and No. 28 Jason Day are all set to tee off, along with Rickie Fowler, back at TPC Deere Run for the first time in 15 years, and last week’s Rocket Classic winner Aldrich Potgieter. Last year’s champ, Davis Thompson, is in the field, as well, after setting the tournament scoring record at 265. He was four shots ahead of the runners-up.

  • Best In State

At just over 7,200 yards and yielding winning scores around 20-under, it’s an attractive test for shorter players who like to work the ball as well as for those in dire need of seeing plenty of birdies on their card.

View Course

The course, which used to be an Arabian horse farm, is known for its birdie opportunities and high-risk, high-reward play. It’s been a tour venue since 2000 and has played host to a 2009-’11 run by Steve Stricker, a Bryson DeChambeau pre-LIV victory and two Jordan Spieth wins.

This week’s winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.512 million cut of the $8.4 million purse.
