In a bizarre video that surfaced on Saturday morning (AEST) from the US Senior Open in Colorado, Padraig Harrington could be seen getting into it with longtime NBC on-course analyst Roger Maltbie. For golf fans, it’s the equivalent of mum and dad fighting at the dinner table.

Harrington, a World Golf Hall of Famer, apparently took issue with Maltbie not helping his group look for a lost golf ball. “Never on a golf course stand and look at somebody looking for a golf ball,” Harrington can be heard saying in the video. Maltbie appears to respond by saying that’s a hard position for Harrington to take.Â
“You’ve played golf all your life,” Harrington says. “You understand.” To Harrington’s point, Maltbie played on the PGA Tour for 20-plus years, winning five times. He continued to stand his ground.Â
Harrington’s caddie, Ronan Flood, attempted to step in and cool everybody down. But Harrington and Maltbie weren’t ready for the discussion to be over.Â
Here’s the full exchange captured from The Broadmoor by local Colorado Springs reporter Brett Forrest:

Sounds like Harrington, who’s tied for first, wasn’t happy with where Maltbie stood. But Maltbie wasn’t having it either.

At one point, you can hear Maltbie say “I’m not a player.” Harrington’s contention was that didn’t matter, that you don’t stand there and look at somebody looking for a golf ball. It’s unclear if it was Harrington’s golf ball or someone else’s golf ball in his group. Either way, it’s an issue Harrington clearly felt strong about.Â
Despite this situation, Harrington is still in a phenomenal position, shooting a second consecutive 67 to reach six-under par. He’s currently tied for the 36-hole lead with Stewart Cink.Â
