The PGA Tour is back in Texas, this time at TPC Craig Ranch for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Many of the top players are taking more of a break before a busy summer schedule picks up shortly, with a signature event and a major championship coming in the next two weeks.
So, with that, Texas native Jordan Spieth is the highest-ranked player in the field, coming in at No. 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Jason Day, the 2023 champion after a five-year winless spurt, is back to defend his title.

They’ll all be competing for a $9.5 million overall purse. The winner will take home $1.71 million for his victory.
Tom Kim, Will Zalatoris and Min Woo Lee are among the other highest-ranked player in Texas. Kris Kim, a 16-year-old from England, is making his first start in a PGA Tour event. He rolled last year in Rome while playing in the Junior Ryder Cup and defeated Miles Russell in singles there. Russell, of course, has made headlines from playing on the Korn Ferry Tour the past two weeks, including making the cut in Texas and collecting a top-20 finish.
