The 2019 Presidents Cup is nearly upon us, and golfers travelling to Melbourne to watch the International side renew hostilities with the American squad might also want to take the opportunity to play a few rounds themselves. Esteemed Yarra Yarra is one destination worth adding to any golf itinerary – and for a few reasons. Firstly, as a fellow Sandbelt course, it is in close proximity to where the main action will take place at Royal Melbourne. Secondly, it’s a layout well worth seeing (or revisiting) given its current state of evolution.

The club began the fourth stage of its Alex Russell restoration in mid-September, which will see works on the southern side of the course (holes eight to 18 plus the new 19th) completed, including the restoration of three greens (eight, 10 and 12). The balance of the golf-course works is scheduled for completion in 2020.

Visitors can secure a tee-time at Yarra Yarra for $250 during the Presidents Cup.
