After his appearance as an analyst for NBC, Kevin Kisner was doing so well that people were begging for more. Even one of NBC’s social media producers told him she couldn’t believe how positive the feedback was on Twitter/X, a place where most people, golf fans especially, are searching for things to find fault in.

“I said, should I retire after one day?” Kisner said. “She’s like, it can’t last this way forever, so you might as well quit.”

Kisner did not, in fact, quit, returning for appearances at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and The Players, among other tournaments. With his playing career hitting a wall at the age of 40, Kisner could have very easily slid right into the NBC booth full time and rode off into the sunset. Four PGA Tour wins, a pair of major championship top 10s and two (victorious) Presidents Cup team appearances is certainly not a playing resume to scoff at.

As Kiz told us on this week’s episode of The Loop podcast, though, he refuses to go out like this.

In our full chat with Kisner, he also told us the hilarious reason he won’t be at the U.S. Open in a playing or broadcasting capacity at all, and the reason he thought his wife was going to “kill him” earlier this season.
