0311 Black Ops

Why we like it

Building a better fairway wood is no different than building a faster race car: better parts mean more speed. This fairway wood features a new steel alloy in the face that’s stronger, lighter and more flexible. It provides more potential distance by making the face 12.5 percent thinner and enabling the rest of the body, including a lightweight carbon-composite crown, to get thinner and lighter, too. This freed up weight for a launch-enhancing lower centre of gravity and three moveable sole weights to tweak ball flight.

0311 Black Ops

  • The carbon-composite crown is one-fourth the density of titanium but just as strong, lowering the centre of gravity and creating more flex in the face.
  • Three moveable sole weights can add forgiveness or minimise a slice or fade.
  • 15, 17, 18, 21 degrees (with an eight-way adjustable hosel).

Reviewer profile

“The ball feels so hot off the face. The carbon fibre is a good look, and the white curve around back frames things nicely. Light sounding. Strong thump at impact.”
