Golf Digest is bringing back the Golf Digest Open, a tournament which will offer amateurs the opportunity to play some of America’s top courses—for its second year. Players will compete for the chance to be named the next national champions and win a golf trip to Ireland (!).

The 2024 Golf Digest Open will bring together 200 two-person teams in a nationwide tournament with 50 teams competing in each of the four regionals, beginning Monday, May 20 and continuing through the summer before culminating in a two-day national championship (Nov. 3-5) at Streamsong in Bowling Green, Fla.

Golf Digest Open’s four regional qualifier locations:

  • Monday, May 20 Cape Club of Palm City in Palm City, Fla (pictured below). The completely reimagined Cape Club underwent an extensive renovation by Darren Clarke and Eoghan O’Connell a decade ago. Each hole has its own fingerprint with a surprising amount of elevation change, and all of the par-3 holes are memorable, especially the island-green 15th hole.

  • Monday, June 17El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, Calif. In 2021, Rees Jones orchestrated a $10 million tee-to-green revitalization of his father Robert Trent Jones’ scenic 1957 original design in the San Fernando Valley, restoring the club as one of the best in the Los Angeles area. The club will also host the USGA Girls Junior championship in 2024.

  • Monday, June 24Seawane Club in Hewlett, N.Y. The Seawane Club is a tremendously creative design from Devereux Emmett, whose green complexes were restored recently by Jeff Stein, who has helped Gil Hanse at a number of his biggest projects. This hidden gem will host the 2024 Long Island Amateur in addition to a qualifier for the Golf Digest Open.

  • Monday, June 24Golf Club of Houston in Houston. The Golf Digest Open returns to the Golf Club of Houston, which will also host the LIV Houston event in 2024. The former site of the PGA Tour’s Shell Houston Open boasts large TifEagle Bermuda greens that are always in great condition with some difficult par 4s.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Golf Digest Open. The Tournament will crown champions in both gross and net divisions, and each qualifier will offer additional challenges and raffles for prizes. The top three gross and top three net teams from each site will qualify for the national championship, and the top gross and net teams will each have their national championship entry fees paid for by Golf Digest. The entry fee for each qualifier is $300 per player ($600 per team) and includes food and drinks plus $300+ in gifts.
