In a startling incident reported by the Sydney Morning Herald, a distressing discovery has unfolded at a renowned Sydney golf club this morning. Authorities were alerted to a grim situation at The Lakes Golf Club at Eastlakes about 9:30am, when an individual stumbled upon a lifeless body in a pond situated adjacent to Wentworth Avenue.

The normally serene atmosphere of the club was abruptly disrupted as law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene, promptly designating it as a crime scene. Despite valiant efforts by police officers to retrieve the body, the challenging conditions compelled them to summon specialised police divers. Their attempts were thwarted, however, leaving the body submerged in the water.

To document the unfolding events, Polair was dispatched to the location, capturing aerial images of the crime scene. The gravity of this incident is compounded by the club’s esteemed reputation as one of Australia’s premier private establishments. Recognised as a venue for prestigious tournaments, including the Australian Open, the club carries a legacy of hosting seven iterations of our national championship, most recently in 2018. The Lakes will co-host this year’s Australian Open (along with The Australian Golf Club) at the end of November.
