Play the dream via the new World Golf Competition

Founded here in Australia and played across the globe, the World Golf Competition is an exciting and unique opportunity for the everyday player.

As golf fans we follow the majors and the professional tours, choosing our favourite players, following their ranking journey and taking in the beauty and the challenge of the world’s great courses. Now it is our time to emulate those players, to have our chance to compete on the global stage, play on incredible courses and have the chance to be crowned world champion.

The World Golf Competition, commencing in early 2025, combines luxury experiences and services with pro-tournament like golf. As explained by co-founder Jon Kerr, “The World Golf Competition is like nothing the golfing world has seen before – to give everyday players the opportunity to live days in the life of a top 100 professional, combined with luxury services and on golf courses many do not get to access to, is unheard of.”

Single entry fee
The competition is open to men, women and all-abilities golfers that hold an official handicap. Entry is confirmed by payment of a single entry fee to cover all inclusions. Hence, as you progress to future rounds in the competition, there is no more to pay.

Unique 1 vs 3 format
The competition is played using its unique 1 vs 3 format. Playing handicapped Stableford in groups of four, entrants only need to beat the other three players in their group, not the field, to progress. The fixture is comprised of four rounds leading to the coveted world final to be held at Punta Espada in the Dominican Republic. As explained by World Golf Competition ambassador, Australian pro Marcus Fraser, “A player beats 12 other players or, if you like, wins four rounds of golf and they have made the world final in the Caribbean.”

Fair play
The integrity of the World Golf Competition is extremely important. The competition will take significant steps to ensure all golfers are playing in the spirit of the game. This includes on-course marshals, live scoring, accredited rules officials, a strict handicap verification policy and handicap-seeded playing groups. In addition, there is no limit as to the handicap entrants can hold, however the maximum they will play off in the competition is 20.

Championship courses
The World Golf Competition is proud to have partnered with more than 140 host venues for 2025, including 30 ranked in the world’s top 100. With wonderful Australian venues such as Woodlands, Barnbougle, New South Wales and Royal Adelaide, the host venue list is further enhanced by the inclusion of Te Arai Golf Club in New Zealand, Pebble Beach and Whistling Straits in the US, Carnoustie and Gleneagles in Scotland, Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Italy and Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore.
