It’s been an incredible run for Robby Berger, the former hotel doorman turned frontman of Bob Does Sports. But despite emerging as a YouTube golf star in recent years, Berger found out the hard way that there are still people in the golf world who aren’t aware of him.

Berger shared on Wednesday that he randomly crossed paths with Rory McIlroy for the first time. And it led to an all-time embarrassing exchange between the two.

“I just rolled down the window and said, ‘Hey, Rory, would love to have you on the show sometime,'” Berger says in a clip he shared on Instagram. “He was a deer in headlights. I said, ‘Did you ever hear of Bob Does Sports?’ He said, ‘No.’ I didn’t really know where to go from there.”

Awkward! But it gets worse. Robby blanked out and thanked Rory for “All you do for YouTube,” meaning to thank him for what he does for golf. And then Bob added this incredible realization.

“Who the f— do I think I am?”

But it gets better! Because Rory wound up responding to Robby’s original post.

A Porsche, eh? We told you it’s been a good run.

Anyway, shake it off, Robby. And if this was all some strategy to get Rory to come on your show and it eventually happens, then it was a stroke of genius.
