There isn’t a golfer in the world who hasn’t dreamt of hearing the starter on the first tee at Augusta National say “Fore please, now driving …” followed by their name echoing among the patrons. For 96 fortunate folks (with another potentially to be added at the conclusion of the Valero Texas Open), that dream is about to be fulfilled after earning an invitation to compete in the 2025 Masters.
Whether you’re a past champion making your 41st and final start (Bernhard Langer) or one of the 21 rookies trying to see if they can join Gene Sarazen (1935) and Fuzzy Zoeller (1979) as the only first-time players to win a green jacket, the feeling never gets old.
As Thursday’s first round creeps closer, the question on many minds is who will be paired with who. Tradition means defending champion Scottie Scheffler share a tee time with U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester. If history holds, several of the 19 of the past champions in the field will likely be paired with other first-time players in a nod to bridging different generations of players. There’s also the curiosity of how Masters officials will handle the 12 LIV golfers competing this week.
Below is the complete player field. Tee times have yet to be set, but check back here and we’ll have them posted as soon as they go live.

No club has tinkered with its golf course as often or as effectively over the decades as has Augusta National Golf Club, mainly to keep it competitive for the annual Masters Tournament, an event it has conducted since 1934, with time off during WWII. All that tinkering has resulted in an amalgamation of design ideas, with a routing by Alister Mackenzie and Bobby Jones, some Perry Maxwell greens, some Trent Jones water hazards, some Jack Nicklaus mounds and swales and, most recently, extensive rebunkering and tree planting by Tom Fazio. The tinkering continues, including the lengthening of the par-4 fifth in the summer of 2018, the lengthening of the 11th and 15th holes in 2022, and the addition of 35 yards to the famed par-5 13th in 2023.
