Time for the chaos. Measures have been put in place to prevent the WM Phoenix Open crowds from getting out of hand as they have in the past, but still, it’s a party at TPC Scottsdale and they’ve all come to see the game’s best do what they do.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the field playing for $9.2 million, with the winner taking home $1.656 million. Scheffler opened his season last week at Pebble Beach and is looking to win here in Arizona for the third time. He won in 2022 and 2023 but tied for third place a year ago.
Nick Taylor is back to defend his title after topping Charley Hoffman on the second hole of a playoff just a year ago. Taylor already has a victory on his resume this year after winning the Sony Open. Hideki Matsuyama and Wyndham Clark are the only other top-10 players in the world in the field behind Scheffler. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth are also both competing.
