The LPGA has reached the final event of its Asia swing, with the Toto Japan Classic being played this week at Seta Golf Course in Shiga. The tournament first started in 1973 and is co-sanctioned with the Japan LPGA. Mone Inami is the defending champion.
The overall purse is $2 million with the winner taking home $300,000 for her victory on Sunday.
Many top players are in the 78-player field, with the likes of Jin Young Ko, Brooke Henderson, Linn Grant, Ayaka Furue, Minjee Lee and Haeran Ryu all competing. Last week Ryoning Yin won for the second time in three weeks when she captured the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur. On Oct. 13, she won the Buick LPGA Shanghai in China. Hannah Green won the event in between, the BMW Ladies Championship in Korea.

After this week it’s back to the United States for the final three events of the season. The Lotte Championship is in Oahu, Hawaii, next week, then The Annika and the CME Group Tour Championship close out the year in Florida.
